Data Lakes are very large data storage systems consisting of structured or unstructured raw data from various sources. Prior to unstructured storage, the data for data lakes does not require any reformatting and can be text-based, number-based, images, videos and stored in any other data storage format. These Data Lakes are used for Big Data analysis. Only in the last step before the analysis the structuring and reformatting of the data takes place. In other words, not until exactly when it is needed. This makes a data lake more flexible than a data warehouse when requirements change frequently. Overall, there are also many more possibilities for future-oriented analysis.
